Given the length of the old thread, this was kind of a no-brainer!

Re: Official WWE rumour thread

I really hope Jeff dosnt fuck this up, hes fantastic and if this is strike 3 hes gone
As Daniel reported here last night, Jeff Hardy was involved in a serious incident on Wednesday morning at Nashville International Airport. We now have new details on this developing story.
Jeff Hardy was set to depart Nashville International Airport on Wednesday morning and head back home to North Carolina along with brother Matt Hardy and Gregory Helms. All 3 men boarded the plane, however for reasons still unknown, several police officers boarded the plane before it departed and took Jeff Hardy off the flight.
Hardy was not handcuffed in front of the other passengers but was clearly being "escorted" off the plane. After he was back in the airport terminal, Hardy made a phone call before police took him away.
That is what we know at this point. News of Jeff Hardy's latest incident a major topic of conversation all day Wednesday at WWE headquarters in Stanford, Connecticut. With Hardy already having two Wellness strikes against him, many are worried about his job security. We'll have more on this story later today.

It would seem that every time Jeff gets close to a real world title shot he makes a balls of it. Matt made no mention of it in his new blog so hopefully its not too serious.

Jeff Hardy shouldn't be given the title at any point as the WWE would have to strip him of the title due to another "issue."

I thought he just had injury problems again - there's been rumours that he came back too soon and is still in pain, which is why he's done very little since putting Edge through the ring.

They definitely blew it by having Edge vs HHH so soon after the draft.
Jericho is now top heel in WWE and Edge...well who knows what's next for him. He was a cowardly heel and I for one didn't enjoy his last few title runs as a result. He needs to be RATED R...when he is he's the best in the business.

Re: Official WWE rumour thread
During Randy Orton's media blitz of the U.K. last month, Power Slam conducted an interview with him. During the interview, Orton's asked if he thinks any WWE newcomers can beat his record of youngest ever holder of a major WWE singles title.
Orton brings up a few names, including Kenny Dykstra. Orton goes off tangent to bring up an incident between the two during a tour in Australia and says that he "never liked him at all."
He also brings up Cody Rhodes, as well as Ted DiBiase, and apparently doesn't know DiBiase's age as he'll be turning 26 years old in November. Orton doesn't think either wrestler is heavyweight champion material. Orton said, "I don't know if the business is going to be ready for a Cody Rhodes as champ. I love him, I think he's really great, he's got his own little niche, but I don't see him or Teddy being the heavyweight champion."
Here is what Orton said:
When you captured the World title aged 24 at SummerSlam 2004, you became the youngest ever holder of a major WWF/WWE singles title. Do you think any of the newcomers will beat your record?
"That's a good question. I'm trying to think of the age of everybody. Cody and Teddy are young, right? Kenny Dykstra (who's 22) I knocked him out in Australia, actually one time. He was drinking and thought that he would f--k with me, and I warned him and slapped him so hard in the temple that I knocked him out. I never liked him at all. And everyone always told him, "You're the next Randy Orton." And you know what? F--k that. Make your own name. What does that mean anyway? I slapped the s--t out of Kenny Dykstra. And I don't even know where he is right now. But age-wise, Cody's 23. That's a long way to go (in less than a year).
I got very lucky. I was wrestling Edge a lot back then. And I was over as a heel and getting a chance because I was wrestling Edge.... They thought I was over, so they thought, 'Let's give this kid a run.' Plus, Brock Lesnar had been the youngest champ and they didn't like Lesnar (who had left the company in March 2004), so I had a lot of luck in getting that spot.
I don't know if the business is going to be ready for a Cody Rhodes as champ. I love him, I think he's really great, he's got his own little niche, but I don't see him or Teddy being the heavyweight champion. I don't know who else is of that age. D.H. Smith (who is 22)? I don't know. Hopefully, no one because, to be honest, I don't want anyone to break my record and I don't think there's any potential right now for anyone to (do so), either."
Randy Orton can do no wrong with me, he's up their with Jericho, his other little rant about HHH is brilliant.

Re: Official WWE rumour thread
Seems as if Orton aint scared to say what he thinks. Anyone reckon he has a little sway backstage now? I read a report saying he is one of the few who stands up for the younger guys there.
I love Orton. Turned into a brilliant heel and some of his matches (not all of course) have been excellent.
Not the greatest wrestler in the world but he has improved a lot. It aint just chinlocks anymore.
I wish him and Edge drew their feud out WAAAAAAY longer so they could have some terrific matches but hey, always time.

Yeah it was the one alluded to above where he ran down HHH and said that the others shouldn't take sh*t off him and Michales. It was a cracking read...it's on wrestleview.com....need to search a bit though as it was around May it was printed.

Re: Official WWE rumour thread
More from that interview
My Hero
During Randy Orton's media blitz of the U.K. last month, Power Slam conducted an interview with him. During the interview, Orton's asked if he was happy that Triple H got drafted to SmackDown. Suffice it to say, Orton was. Orton also noted a comment Umaga told him backstage during the night of the draft regarding moving away from Triple H when he was drafted to SmackDown (but before he found out Triple H was moving to). And you won't believe what Orton has to say on Triple H.
Additionally, in a passing comment, Orton makes note of not being good friends with Triple H. He also says he wasn't into the whole Edge (and Vickie Guerrero) marriage angle.
Here is what Orton said in the interview:
PS: Have you been keeping track of WWE storyline developments during your absence?
Orton: "Oh, definitely, yeah. Not SmackDown as much. I've caught a few episodes. The whole Edge marriage thing... I don't know: I'm not into that. But I'll watch the matches whenever I get a chance. I'll watch some of the guys, like Umaga and Carlito, who are good friends of mine. Triple H not so much. But still, I like to watch what's going on. I'm interested to see (HHH's) match with The Great Khali at SummerSlam."
PS: Were you glad when Triple H was Drafted to SmackDown?
Orton: "I was at the Draft (on June 23) after I got hurt. I was in the locker room watching the backstage monitor. I was hoping to get traded (from Raw to SmackDown). Actually, it's funny because Umaga just got traded to SmackDown. He was like, "Man, you know what? At least I haven't got to be around Triple H no more." So (Umaga) goes to SmackDown and I'm like, "Yeah ... F--k you!" The last Draft pick's Triple H and I'm like (punches the air), "Yes! Oh, my God!" Yes, yes, yes!" I went right up to Umaga and I was, like, "You've got to deal with it now!" It was my favourite Draft pick, to be honest with you. And we got Rey Mysterio, we got Kane, Batista. I've got history with those guys."

This must be a more recent shoot on HHH.
Before Smash went down he was shooting off about HHH and HBK and how they're too old and shouldn't be listened to.
Awesome.

Re: Official WWE rumour thread
Rey Mysterio is expected to be signing a new three-year deal with WWE. AAA had reportedly made a play for him as his current contract with WWE is expiring soon. He was said to be offered a shocking amount by the standards of Mexico, which included a guarantee of more than seven figures per year (which is what he earns in WWE).
AAA felt they needed to be offering around what he earns now to even stand a chance. How AAA would be able to afford it is not known. The general feeling is that a jump to AAA would be considered a huge risk in comparing the two companies right now. The only pros to a jump to AAA is that he would more than likely be able to do what he pleased and be guaranteed as the biggest star in the company, something he isn't always guaranteed in WWE and probably never will have.
In regards to some reports making the rounds recently about Batista's status with WWE, he did ask for time off after WrestleMania 24, but the company asked him to put if off because the roster was lacking depth at the time. More injuries have taken place since then and prevented him from taking the time off he had hoped for.
Batista is said to feel he will never be in the spot he was three years ago when he was considered one of biggest "top guys" in the company after a strong feud with Triple H drew big business. He has explored options in Hollywood and realizes that at his age (believed to be 39) he is running out of time and can't handle a tough schedule much longer physically. His win over John Cena at SummerSlam was supposed to be a message to him as a vote of confidence, although he was openly critical of having such a short build-up for the match and feeling it should have been saved for WrestleMania instead.
Despite the current situation in WWE right now, he is still interested in taking some time off and many feel whatever noise he is making right now will get noticed without any sort of punishment considering his position. As an example, when someone like Carlito openly made similar remarks the reaction in WWE was to punish him instead. One source close to the situation has stated he would be shocked if Batista did decide to take time off right now as he is said to enjoy the lifestyle of being a star and getting attention. The belief is that he is making in excess of $2 million a year and taking time off for at least a year could cost him a lot of money if he plans to retire in the next few years. In general, it isn't believed any wrestler would be feeling economically secure enough to take a significant amount of time off with the current economic situation.

Re: Official WWE rumour thread
Since complaints were becoming more known, WWE has reportedly made a decision to slow down the pace of angles. One example of this is the feud between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. The company also had plans for Randy Orton to end up as the leader of the Cody Rhodes/Ted DiBiase Jr./Manu group within two or three weeks since they started teasing things on TV and PPV, but the angle is being slowed down with the idea that it will be more effective.
Wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't the possibility they'd actually just kill storylines altogether by slowing them down...I think they got lucky with Jericho/Hbk...

My money's on Austin McMahon coming top. Limiting it to the past 20 years is a cunning way to ignore the Steamboat/Flair rivalry which is my favourite.

Jeff Wilen of News-JournalOnline.com recently spoke with Kevin Nash on Wednesday morning regarding his current status with TNA Wrestling.
Nash stated that his current deal with TNA expires on October 10 and is still working on a deal with the company. He added that he won't be appearing on TNA TV until both sides come to an agreement pointing out that merchandise issues were one of the things that are holding back a deal from being made.
Nash did confirm he talked to WWE adding quote: "I talked to Vince (McMahon). He offered me a contract, but he wanted me to dye my hair." As rumored before, Nash said a schedule with TNA would be much easier on him than a schedule with WWE.
