Official Raw thread
For anyone watching RAW on monday nights. Did they just pull off a shock entrance? a swerve? or was it all telegraphed to hell?

I'm watching RAW now, what is going on with Kane and Rey Mysterio? And how is Rey's wee friend?

Re: Official Raw thread
Hey guys...welcome back to Smash! So good to be back.
Just finished watching RAW.
Adamle is still terrible. Shocking he is a main character on a main show like RAW.
Jericho being champ is great. He is such a dickhead but in a good way. Needs to ditch Cade though...total deadweight.
Beth and Santino still going strong I like. Batista going around just brutalising people is fine but please dont let him talk too much. He works better this way.
Thats all for now but once again...thank god for Smash.

Do you mean "who is rey's wee friend"
That is ECW's Evan Bourne. Prety good raw talent with the jumps and kicks. IIRC has damn good elevation on the shooting star.
The story goes that Rey was mising for weeks after the draft because Kane jumped him in the parking lot, took him prisoner and "destroyed his soul". It's all about him hiding behind a mask and being a fungus in the dark corners odf the mind or somesuch. Cue Mysterio coming out with no scars, no injuries and full confidence.
And dear god yes, Adamle truly sucks. Totally unnatural delivery, and not only does he need an idiot sheet for his promos, not onlty does he hold said crib sheet in full view during the promos...but he actually wears his glasses so he can keep reading it! Muppet!

Re: Official Raw thread
I thought the stumbling, clumsy Adamle was all part of his character. Perhaps i'm wrong, but it just seems that he's so bad that it has to be an act. I've never seen him before he became manager though, so perhaps i'm wrong.

Re: Official Raw thread
Why did they hire Adamle in the first place? He clearly is a dunce when it comes to wrestling, listening to Tazz baby-sit him through ECW each week was hilarious.

Yeah, there are way too many guys in the upper mid card right now I think. The whole Y2J/Punk/Priceless thing is a bit meh because Cody is a charisma black hole and Ted & Manu never get to talk.
Just seeing Santino is enough to make me laugh.

Re: Official Raw thread
Jericho started in the ring, pointing out, for example, that he's won three titles in ladder matches, and won more milestone ladder matches than HBK has even been in
Orton interrupted him, and said he'd spoken with Adamle, and whilst he couldn't hit anyone, anyone who hit him would be suspended.
Jericho left, Punk came down. Forehead to forehead gurning match, then Punk slapped orton down into the corner. Adamle came down and suspended Punk indefinately.
Shane then arrived, said that he appreciated Adamle was having to undergo "on the job" training, but that Punk had just given orton a "receipt" and overruled him. Orton said he couldn't just come out and make up the rules ("I can"). Shane said the ruling started from now and made a main event Y2J/JBL v Batista/HBK
Punk beat Rhodes. Priceless came down to beat himup, save by Kingston

Re: Official Raw thread
Nezt:
Shane and Adamle in the office, Kane comes in, demands Rey and gets a 1-on-1 at no mercy. Tells Shane to say "Hi to your mom" as he leaves. Adamle asks if Kane knows Linda: "If you call tombstoning her onto a steel grate, then torturing her more by electrocuting my testicles with a car battery, knowing her, then yeah, we're tight"
Glamarella run into Kelly Kelly (....Kelly) backstage, Santino in a face mask after last week's assault by the "Manimal". Beth had demanded a Kelly match after the found her laughing with Batista. Beth and Santino went on about what they'd do to Batista after the match, then turned to find him beind them. Santino's music hit just as they stared down, much to his relief.
Santino came down and requested the Honk-o-meter - 64 weeks v 5 weeks. Deuce (or "Fonzie" as SM calls him) comes down for their match.

Re: Official Raw thread
Bourne again looks good against Kane. Rey comes down for the post-match save and fails.
And yes, loved Santino's whole Batista routine backstage: "did he say something intelligent and funny? I don't think so, because he is the manimal and walks with his knuckles scraping on the ground like theeese..."
btw, do you think they think we've forgotten that Batista is supposed to hate HBK?

Re: Official Raw thread
I love the new Kane, for once hes going over everyone clean. He hasnt done that in years. Usually hes built up and then gets a beating. I really hope Bourne and Rey dont get their own back and he just keeps bitchslapping people. His ariel slap to Bourne and ariel boot to Rey were class.

Re: Official Raw thread
The athleticism of Kelly Kelly...
what, a few slaps and kicks to the elbow and slowly clambering to the top turnbuckle for a somersault.
that said, the underwear model wins.
Love Santino's reaction to big Dave's music!
And I assume from that segment we're getting Miz + Morrison v Cryme Tyme - but correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this sort of feud development used to happen in the shows, not on the website.
Not complaining though, could be a pretty good feud. "I met your dad, Shad. He wears a sweater vest"
And lo and behold, here we go.

Re: Official Raw thread
Another good Haas skit to shill the Mr Perfect DVD - blond curly wig screwing up is whole classic routine. Liking what they're doing with him at the moment, he seems to alternate between Coach's spot-host role and this new persona. Gotta be better than the masked/unmasked thing
Cade added to the main event by Jericho + Adamle.
And wasn't HBK supposed to have a legitimate bicep injury which almost stopped the unsanctioned match? Seems to be a little active for an injured guy

Re: Official Raw thread
my only fear is that he only has so many he can do. Anyone too popular could turn the crowd against the gimmick. The Cena one alone was a risk - could have alienated those that wanted to see him for real. God forbid they ever try him as "The most electrifying Haas in sports entertainment" - there'll probably be a riot if it's not funny enough.

But he was a heel when he impersonated Cena, so the crowd disappointment worked for his heat.

But there's good heat and bad heat. People love to hate the best heels, like Jericho or Edge, but the risk is that too much disappointment could mean that they just outright turn to hating the perpetrator. Even a heel still has to be over with the crowd to work.

Kane was awesome Monday night.
Glad his push hasn't petered out just yet and looks like he's maybe in for a sustained run of clean wins. It's the most dominating he has looked since he took on 'Taker at WM.

Well obviously they felt Haas was over enough to risk it. Considering the response he's been getting for the last few weeks I'd say they're right.
