The only way we will qualify for the Champions League is if we win it. So... Europa league it is then.

Wenger might as well have put out the kids for all the guts the players have shown today. They would more than likely have gotten a 0-0 but at least they would have looked proud to be playing. Gutless, pointless, brainless, skilless, clueless performance personified by Bendtner who has had about 6 easy chances and fucked each and every one of them up.

Does Redknapp ever shut up complaining?

Ever since he has gone to spurs he has turned into a bigger twat than he already was.

Probably best not to post any links on the board.

If only there was another way to send messages to members without them appearing on the board....

Nope, it's "Simples" as in "simple"

And I wouldn't be so sure yet. There's a small gap opened up now, so Hull may just have enough of a lead to stay ahead.

I think West Brom will drop on sheer lack of quality. Also think the Smoggies will go down due to them being seeming unable to buy a goal at times.

Think Blackburn & Spurs will get out of it quite comfortably.

I recon the 3rd relegation spot is between Stoke, Hull & Pompey. Can also see Sunderland getting sucked into it. Don't see Newcastle getting any better, but I really can't see us getting any worse (barring a couple of injuries to key players).

I can't be bothered checking but I hoped I picked that to be 0-0 in the predictions game, most obvious 0-0 in a long time.

Have to agree Hector. I had a horrible feeling from the start this would be another 0-0.

I still can't believe we played 4-5-1 against Fulham... Van Persie is not a left winger nor is he an out and out striker and yet he's always in one of them.

We are a 4-4-2 team... always have been and always will be.

But where would you play him then, in behind the striker?

Precisely. If you watch him when he plays with Adebayor he's always slightly behind him, the way Bergkamp used to play with Henry.

But with Adebayor and Eduardo injured wouldnt that mean Bentdner playing as the out and out striker? Very Happy

No you'd play Vela there, which is what I thought Wenger was going to do but instead he stuck Vela out on the left wing and Van Persie up front on his own.

Plus Bendtner might actually do well in a 4-4-2. 4-5-1 he's shocking but with a partner he might be a little more deadly... or indeed he might actually be useful Razz

I thought Vela would be too small to play the out and out striker for some reason, maybe because he is so young I expect him to be small and lightweight chin ponder

I also thought Bendtner would be perfect as a lone striker due to his strength even if he doesnt score many at least he should be good enough to bounce the ball off, maybe Arsenal could adopt the Republic of Irelands tactics from the Charlton era Very Happy

That makes perfect sense in theory, but when he plays on his own he just gets isolated because everyone else is too far away and because he's a bit too selfish. Despite the fact that he can't finish a sandwich he'd rather have a go then look for the better option.

That said I wouldn't get rid of him because he's a great supersub. When he comes on towards the end of games he always seems to score the winner!

Surely thats the midfielders fault then in not giving him support? Seems like Wengers problem if anything he should be instructing the players to get up to him quicker because its not like Arsenal are a slow team. Van Persie should be perfect in his behind the striker role in just floating around and linking the play between midfeild and the Danish donkey.

Im not being a dick incase thats what anyone is thinking I am just generally interested Very Happy

No you've hit the nail right on the head. We are very slow in the Premier League. Against Roma we were lightning fast so the formation was less 4-5-1 and more 4-2-2-1-1. Diaby was spectacular getting forward, something he just didn't do against Fulham, which left Van Persie isolated in a position he can't play anyway.

But the other thing is that Bendtner, as a supposedly natural striker, should really be finishing more of the chances he gets. The number of times he's put shots into the post or wide of the goal because he's trying to put it right in the corner makes the veins in my head want to burst. Even if he had midfield support I think he'd still be taking too many chances and f**king them up.

    Yay!

Think that's the first (and second) time that Bendtner has scored in the Premier League when he's started! Someone's obviously had a word with him about the round thing going in the rectangular thing.

Spurs lost the Carling Cup so they're crying, Arsenal are glad that they won't have to hear Spurs fans crow about a meaningless trophy for another year AND Aston Villa screwed up against Stoke... hence sigh of relief.
