Are those what you hope the draw will be? Because they seem very kind to your respective teams

It doesnt really matter who you get at this stage, obviously I would like to avoid the English teams for now and hopefully Barca but fuck it if you want to win it you are gonna have to play the better teams sooner or later

Fingers crossed for Porto or Bayern though Very Happy

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINAL DRAW:

    Villarreal v Arsenal
    Manchester United v FC Porto
    Liverpool v Chelsea
    Barcelona v Bayern Munich

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL DRAW:

    Manchester United/FC Porto v Villarreal/Arsenal
    Barcelona/Bayern Munich v Liverpool/Chelsea

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL DRAW:

    Manchester United
    /FC Porto/Villarreal/Arsenal V Barcelona/Bayern Munich/Liverpool/Chelsea Razz

Nice draw. Barcelona V Bayern should be a good game. My predictions are in bold, Man Utd have a pretty easy ride to the final.

Hey, 2 out of 4! That's better than I normally do! Laughing

Guess it'll only be a maximum of three English teams in the semis then...

Porto won't beat Man Utd, that's the one I'm most sure of.
I think Bayern may shock everyone and knock out Barca.
Chelsea will beat 'Pool or Gerrard will fall over conveniently like he did last year and Liverpool will advance by the odd goal. But I reckon Hiddink's better than Benitez.

As for us... I reckon of all the draws that's the best chance we have of getting to the semis. Let's all watch us fuck it up! Razz

If we beat Villareal I can't see us beating Man Utd over two legs. At best we'll beat them at the Emirates but at Old Trafford I suspect not.

Porto will lose to Man United with a few goals from Ronaldo... i say hmmm... 4-1 overall.

Arsenal will easily defeat The Spanish Version of Aston Villa..... i say be around 5-2 overall.

Liverpool will defeat Cheslea 1-0 overall with the help of the cheating twat Gerrard, he will dive as ever and score a penalty or something, can see this game being dead boring and controversial though.

Barca will beat Bayern quiet easily 3 or 4 nil, Sporting Lisbon are a terrible team, it was more to do with how bad they where than how good Bayern are.... Barca to go through quite easily

    AYE!

Fabregas is playing as a support striker just off Adebayor... wow... didn't see that coming!

I guess Wenger reckons that's his best position now that Denilson, Song and Diaby have started to pull it together in midfield. Shocked

Think this referee needs to re-read the rules on free kicks. Firstly the striker can elect to take the free kick early once the referee has walked away from the ball and it's NOT a bookable offence. Secondly when a player only has to run 3 yards to block a free kick he logically can't have been 10 yards away from the ball and that IS a bookable offence. Why do we always get shafted by Norwegian referees?

That said, terrible play by us this half.

Firstly, no he can't. If the ref tells him to wait and then walks away, it's a caution. There's no way ont v you can tell what the ref has said to him. Secondly, you're wrong again. I haven't seen it but form what you say it sounds like a free-kick taken quickly was blocked by a guy less than 10 yards away. If so the laws clearly state that you play on as the playe has elected to play the ball quick despite the other player not being 10 yards away. Just thought I;d clear that up. Smile

That's not what I've heard. I've heard it was just the ref walking away. But fair play. And the 2nd free kick was taken in normal time after the whistle with all the waiting so it wasn't a quick free kick.

We got the draw anyway, and the ref was a different character in the 2nd half. Wasn't putting up with any diving/imaginary card shit from Villareal (and there was plenty of it!) and Adebayor's goal... mwah!

At least the ref had rthe balls to book Terry. He jumped in at the keeper knowing that there was no way he'd get to the ball first - deserved the second leg ban and the knee to the midriff that he got.

European Referees have never had a problem booking the likes of Terry. Unfortunately they also tend to book players for sneezing in the vicinity of other players...

Exactly, you always see one team get at least 10 goals.

I still think Barca are going to meet Man Utd in the final. I don't think Chelsea will provide much opposition to them and Man Utd should get passed Porto.

    Hopefully I've jinked them. pray

I wasn't watching that game funnily enough but it wouldn't surprise me if Souness said that!

Eguren being sent off was hilarious. I loved his "Ah I've been sent off now, so I can rough up the ref" approach Laughing

Also well done to Eboue for slipping back into that RB role like he'd never left it.

So... how many years in a row is that with guaranteed English representation in the final?

Still taken you almost half a century to do twice what we did at our only attempt and make the semis Wink (Sorry, replying to you, felt a dig was needed. Good win actually)

The sending off was a laugh (not least because it wasn't a penalty, so it should never have had a chance to happen) but Ronaldo's goal was just THAHAHAT good.</drcox>

Seriously. That was pretty damn sweet!

Still taken you your entire club history to fail to equal our best achievement in this competition. Wink

Then you say "Won anything recently?"

Then I tell you our total trophy haul.

Then you say we haven't beaten you this season

Then I say we've won the league at White Hart Lane the same number of times you have.

    There, that's that done.

And how is taking a players legs away in the area not a penalty? It was a cruel vicious tackle Wink
