Re: UEFA Champions League
Cluq marked their CL debut beating Roma 2-1. Apparantly Roma were shocking and they did have a lot of injuries, but still a nice scalp for the Romanian's. Atletico are looking a nice outside bet if they weren't already.

Will Celtic improve upon their 1 point out of a possible 45 away from home tonight? Tune in to STV to find out (I don't think they will )

Re: UEFA Champions League
United got the win i think everybody expected but i think they made harder work of it then it had to be
Nice to see Berbatov get his first goal tonight and then get a bonus because they sparked him into life, i was starting to get very frustrated watching him dooter about the pitch looking like he couldnt be bothered. For £30 million i would like you to break a sweat! But its a meaningless gripe now
I hear the Real-Zenit match was a bit good earlier on and Bate must be kicking themselves now after leading Juve 2 nil but at least they got a point................Oh yeah and Celtic didnt get their win

Re: UEFA Champions League
Missed the game because I was refereeing one.
By all accounts, well, my mum's at least, it was the usual lack of a killer instinct and the inability to adjust to the tempo of European games which cost us. I'll catch the highlights in half an hour or so though.

Were you wearing the blue referee top?
Just go to bed and forget the game, it was a big borefest. Celtic wall didn't jump for the free kick and MacDonald nearly scored a peach.

Re: UEFA Champions League
Nah, was in black tonight as one of the teams was in skyblue.
Saw the highlights and noticed that that's the second time in 2 games we've lost a goal to a free-kick and the wall doesn't jump. I'd assume Boruc has told them not to which obviously needs to be stopped because it's clearly not working. McDonald was very unlucky and also that the guy that won the free-kick is a cheat.

Well Arsenal certainly did the business last night. Seems like they were really trying to make up for Saturdays humiliation. Still it should have been 6-0. Walcott and bendtner both missed howlers.

Glad Berby got off the mark for Man U last night, he showed in flashes against Liverpool he could be a good signing. Top of the group, nice! Bring on Celtic at OT. I hope Hinkel plays, as Ronaldo will run rings round him

Does anyone else find Liverpool really difficult to watch?
They arent inoffensive on the eye but they are just really boring bar the odd flash from Torres and Gerrard
I think workman like would be the best way I could describe them

I completely agree. My brothers a Liverpool fan so I watch a lot of their games but I find them awful to watch.
How long you guys reckon Drogbas out for? Pretty nasty spill he took.

I'm with you two on Liverpool. In any one game they've got two creative entertaining players, a goalkeeper and eight brick walls.

Re: UEFA Champions League
You been watching the Breakfast Club again JK?
United were lucky with Berbatovs 2 goals which were offside but i think they would have run out worthy winners anyway, they dominated the whole thing. Rooney was great tonight again im glad to see him get a good run of games together in the form he's in

I only saw the last 15 minutes but that ref was a joke he caved to pressure in giving the penalty although the lines man didnt help him but then booking Pernia for it and Heitinga for and then booking Aguero for taking the kick off! All three should be rescinded
Liverpool were very very lucky but the its not the first time Stevie G has went down in the box with no contact and should end the myth about foreigners being the biggest divers but wont. Its him and Liverpool Sheffield United should be suing in the first place not West Ham!
Then again im just mouthing because im a football fan if Rooney does the same tommorow night i'll back him to the death

Stephen Gerrard is a Cheat last night proves it again! If it had of been Ronaldo or Drogba who had of done that they would of been torn apart, yet because Gerrard cheats again the press are looking over it, cant stand the guy as a footballer.

He has the John Terry factor, they both get away with murder.

And he's always so outspoken about diving as well is Mr Gerrard. Writing in his autobiography that it's ruining the sport, claiming that he'd have words with any team mate doing it etc.
He and Terry (who needs to respect referees John???!!!) are two of the most hypocritical public figures ever. They're on a par with the vatican and politicians.

Re: UEFA Champions League
United were lucky to come away with the draw in the end took them far too long to get going and Celtic were fantastic they defended brilliantly. Although with the chances United had they could have won comfortably had they put them away, Ferdinand, Vidic, Berbatov all had masive chances

Re: UEFA Champions League
Overall happy with the draw, disappointed that he rested Rooney as I would have preffered him starting over Tevez who was poor last night, but then again so was Nani, worst Ive seen him play in a while, Rafael toiled against McGeady, but the lad still has the makings of a really good right back in time. Is it just me or does Cristiano's body language suggest he's still in the huff??? Sometimes I wonder if Iker Castillas and £40million would be a wise trade??
Celtic defended great, but Utd had so many chances to win the game comfortably. Wilson was good, and thought Brown and Hartley did well aswell. Cilian Sheridan could be a find as well, can see him getting a few starts this year. If Broony continues this form so far this year, he will end up in the Premiership next year for damn sure, I'd be delighted to see that as he's an ex Hibs player, and I'd be happy to see him no longer playing against Hibs

Re: UEFA Champions League
Aaaand that's Silvestre injured.
So that leaves us with Toure and Djourou as our only fit centre backs and no right back. Bet Wenger wishes he hadn't sold Hoyte and loaned out Senderos now.
The team is slowly falling apart. I don't want Wenger out but he really does need to do something pretty drastic pretty quickly! That said, if all those people at the Emirates booing the team would just fuck off and stop going I could get to more games. I remember when Champions League football was just something that happened to other teams.
