    And so it starts again.

Start of new season - manager is messiah, smash the top 4 blah blah blah
Spurs utterly shit it up and plumett to the bottom of the table
Spurs fans call for his head
Board finally cave in and sack manager.
New manager comes in and has initial success, elevating him to Messiah
End of season Spurs are far from "smashing" anything in the league
Start of new season - manager is messiah...

    *Holds up Lion cub*

    It's the circleeeeeeeeeeeee of liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    DUN!
    ___

Incidently I've just realised the irony that a team with the nickname "Yid Army" and a strong Jewish fanbase should call for the Messiah's head every year

    Wink

For the record, I was embarressed that Newcastle brought out the video of the 5-0 thumping of scumchester too. DVD's like that just belittle the club.

Yeah I knew about that one. Wound Gari up about it on Facebook Razz

There's a lot of Spurs fans on 606 trying to justify it as well. Very amusing!

You don't see Hull City releasing a DVD of their WIN at the Emirates and that was truly something to be proud of!

Our result today doesn't make your DVD release any less sad Gari, and you're STILL bottom. Wink
    ____

Stoke might as well have had 12 men on the field for Rob Styles' performance today. First goal was a foul and generally his performance was rubbish. Why does this clown even have a job anymore? It's not like this is a rare bad day! The players don't want him, the fans don't want him, the managers don't want him, the media don't want him, the pundits don't want him, a fair few referees want him out... it's only fucking balls-less Keith Hackett who's keeping him on the payroll. Yes I'm angry about today's result but for the love of god if you were as incompetent at your job as he is would YOU expect to still have a job??!?!!!

    On the game:
Yet again we concede two soft goals from the air. Please for the love of god Wenger give Djourou a game. He can't do any worse than Silvestre, Toure and Gallas have this year!

Poor Clichy. Every Arsenal fan has been aching for him to score his first goal and then that happens.

I have 3 videos - the 91 semi, the 81 final and the last game Mabbutt played against Southampton. Wouldn't buythis one.

That said we actually sell the footage of every Spurs game, so this being available is no surprise.

I was more referring to the other situation. I seem to recall pisstaking from all angles when we lost to Stoke, at least my only complaint was Dawson's red, and I admitted they deserved the win....

Defenitley agree with the anti-Styles sentiment. I have no idea how he has survived this long as a top flight ref. He often gets the big decisions wrong and in general is very whistle-happy. To top it all off he has always seemed to me a twat of the Graham Poll variety.

I think it is going to be interesting over the course of the season to see how the attitude towards referees goes. With the 'Respect' campaign at the start of the season there was a lot of feeling towards them that they were the noble few doing their best to uphold the laws of the game and deserved nothing but respect. And while I certainly think players shouldn't be abusive it hasn't taken long for people to remember just why officials are criticised in the first place.

To be fair though, I think the big problem in football at the moment is in the laws/rules of the game itself, and just how they should be applied. Its a subject that really needs discussion, as so many decisions right now are tainting a lot games.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka admits that he is unhappy at being played out of position by manager Luis Felipe Scolari.

The Frenchman has previously voiced his desire to forge a strike partnership with Didier Drogba, but Scolari has preferred to field a lone forward.

And Anelka, who scored a hat-trick against Sunderland at the weekend as Drogba started on the bench following injury, admits that his boss' tactics can frustrate after describing their relationship as 'polite'.

The 29-year-old has been forced into a wide berth when Drogba has been fit, while the former Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City player has been asked to play a lone attacking role in his team-mate's absence.

Anelka said in the Daily Express: "My relations with Scolari? I would say they are 'polite'.

"He asks me to wait for my chance, then to play, then to score. I obey him even though I would prefer to play 4-4-2 than 4-3-3.

"I would like to play with Didier Drogba, but the coach prefers one player up front. I would prefer to play as a No.9 and a half."

Wow... took him less than six months to find something to whinge about. Even for Le Sulk that's impressive!

Polites good, you can live with polite

Arsene Wenger has called Delap and Shawcross cowards after Saturdays game saying they deliberatley injured Walcott and Adebayor. Its about time Wenger woke up and realised that teams are not going to stand back and let Arsenal walk the ball into the net like he seems to expect them too, i get that he is upset at two of his first team players getting injured in the same match but he really needs to engage his brain before he opens his mouth!

I agree with you two on this one. They were nasty tackles but if they were deliberate Theo's problem wouldn't be with his arm (which it apparently is.)

Frankly I'd be happy if Wenger signed a player who went round kicking other players. Nasri looks like he has that side to his game and Diaby's a bit of a tough nut when he's not being played on the wing. At the very least we should start playing 4-3-3 and play Song in the Makalele role.

And for the love of god PICK DJOUROU!!!

Ugh... just woke up on the sofa. I ended up going to the game at the last minute (using someone else's ticket ssshhh!) and having expected to lose by a country mile I was thrilled that my impressive record of being Arsenal's good luck charm worked out, they rarely lose when I attend Smile. Much drink was had and I am reliably informed by my fiancee that I returned home in the early hours of the morning and collapsed on the sofa.

Clarkey, did I meet you? I remember meeting someone called Sean... was it you?
