    And that's a 1-0 against Chelski confirmed.

I've used as a target for the last decade a target for a good season of a point a game against the big however many (so 6 when it was the big 3, now 8 for the big 4) and that puts us on 10 and no defeats this year. Should now be safe - our goal difference is worth a point if we slip back down - and another possible UEFA cup spot is not out of reach.

By our standards (until the last few years), we're on for a good season

Doesn't surprise me that Rooney got sent off. Two monumentally stupid bookings. Pulling someone over and the other for throwing the ball away.

You know this is probably the first time for a long time that Man Utd have had two players sent off AND a penalty given against them and there's absolutely nothing Fergie can bitch about!

Maybe the league run-in can be exciting after all, but it would still require a magnificent bottle job from Man Utd... and that's our speciality not theirs.

He won't bitch about it anyway cause he won't come down to do an interview. Biggest sore loser.

You're giving us a bit of help there too. If we beat N'castle and Villa lose we're 3 ahead of Villa and 6 behind Chelsea. Not bad considering where we were a few weeks ago.

So..... watch us lose to N'castle!

After the universal wankathon the media was having over United it was inevitable they would stutter and some point but its about how they come back from this now. Thats two defeats in a row and 4 maybe 5 bad performances so hopefully this is our 'blip' and we can get things back on track in the next game.

Maybe Fergie is right not giving interviews after games like this, the FA cant charge him for something he doesnt say.

That'll be 3 games out for him retrospectively...

Lately Senor Almunia seems to be possessed by the combined spirits of the mad German and big Dave. Beginning of the season he had as much presence as a microbe but lately... wow!

AND TAYLOR TRIED TO TAKE OUT ARSHAVIN'S LEG ON THAT RUN!!! DIRTY BASTARD!

One thing I'll say for Bendtner. He may lose the ball a lot but he'll fight you tooth and nail to get it back afterwards!

Now THIS is a football match! Very Happy

DAMMIT! Harper has conjoured up the spirit of Shay Given!!!! AAAAAAAAARGH!
    ________________

That was a fantastic first half. Taylor should be in the changing room (my only real gripe), Harper stopped two dead certs, and Almunia stopped a penalty! Amazing!

Actually looking back over it, is Mr Halsey wearing a Newcastle shirt? We're getting absolutely nothing!

Yes that is exactly what is happening, because every time Arsenal dont get a decision its obvious that the referee supports the opposition.

Not having seen the Taylor foul I cant comment but I remember him cleaning Vidic at St James park after he had fouled Ronaldo a month or so ago so he is quite prone to the odd rash tackle. Dont know whether its nastiness or clumsiness though

He looked twice to see where Arshavin was and then deliberately elbowed him in the face. That's a little more than rash! He then tried to clip Arshavin several times when he was running on goal.

The Newcastle shirt was in jest.

Yeah well my reply was in being a dick Wink

Well if the elbow was as bad as you say and warranted such a reaction from Outlaw then no doubt he'll be suspended for three games by the FA anyway

    Inevitable with both defences!

By my count both Taylors should be off by now, though it looks like Diaby may have broken one of them a bit.

And but for Shane Harper it would've been 4!

Diaby looked like Zokora before he scored, and since he's been Vieira!!!

Van Persie seems to have turned missing into an art form this afternoon. Think we might be seeing Eddie soon Smile

Also I think at some point today Bendtner has played every position on the pitch bar keeper. I've seen him on both wings, out front, in the hole, at the back, holding mid... everywhere!

Song on for... Arshavin. Um... ok.

So presumably Nasri goes to the left and Diaby goes to the right and we're playing 4-1-3-2 for the rest of the game.

Tell you what, for two people that hate eachother Gallas and Toure are a good pair!

Gone playing a defensive game now. Don't need any more attacking players on the pitch.

Yeah I know but I thought we'd have brought off V-P and played 4-5-1 is all.

Did Halsey award a free-kick when Taylor elbowed Asrhavin? If he did that means he's seen it and he's on for a seriously poor mark because that is a clear red card. Left up to me I'd be handing out 6-8 game bans for that sort of conduct.

Should have cautioned Van Persie for that foul on Haprer there as well.

Yeah that was what was ridiculous about it. He gave a free kick for the challenge but not even a yellow for Taylor. One of the most blatant elbows you'll ever see too!
