Ok, so maybe I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, but am quietly confident of our squad this season. Could do with a good run in the FA Cup & hopefully FA Trophy too this year to bring some extra cash into the club, and us fans need something to get excited about.

Re: FA Cup Thread
thank god - we don't seem to get lower league opposition in this any more. Our draw has been skewed towards the big four ever since we had top play Chelsea on less than 40 hours rest a few years back.
That said, same old same old...we'll get United in the 4th round.

Oooh, a third round tie at Stoke. Methinks I'll have to get to this tie, we like Premier League opposition in Round 3 of cup competitions. (Yes, I'm looking at you Man United & Everton)

Re: FA Cup Thread
I'm a little undecided about which tie I'd like to see. Like most people, I too would like to see a Man Utd Vs Leeds match, but one of my bosses keeps trying to have a dig at me about York & non-league teams in general so I'd like to see Kettering give Leeds a hiding just to rub his nose in it.

Great match between Leeds and Man U. Anderson, Brown and all the united young lads were brutal today. Leeds completely deserved it.

Re: FA Cup Thread
You mean the one where Dawson played the ball and he stalled for a few seconds before making his mind up?
Seriously, why the delay? One linesman had the goalmouth between him and the action, the other's view was from behind the tackle so couldnm't see the ball being played, so neither had a better view than he did. the very fact he delayed showed he had a doubt - which was correct because the ball was played first.
Was a good game, though. certainly. Only problem Leeds have now is that Lennon will probably be fit for the replay.

Re: FA Cup Thread
That was a stick on penalty, the ref was quite right to take his time given that it was such a crucial point in the match, you can have no complaints there. Wish I had watched it now instead of forgetting it was on.

Except that Dawson played the ball first ad foremost, the definition of a fair challenge...
Anyway, given that I loive in Stoke todays result was MUCHO amusement!

Re: FA Cup Thread
Nailed on penalty. Spurs dominated for the whole game and yet couldn't finish off a 3rd division side, if I was a spurs fan I would be questioning the team and not the ref.
Great result for us, I can see Leeds' slip become more of a reality!
