Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
The whole point in changing the structure of scoring was to the way it is now from 10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 was to reward consistancy. The idea being a driver regularly scoring podiums will have more chance of winning than someone that wins a fist full of races but does nothing for the rest of the season. There's nothing wrong with the way it is IMO.

Yes but it's not so much a credit crunch as a credit nibble for them

Hamilton did pretty well too, though I won't say what happened till everyone's had the chance to see it.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
One thing that race proved was that The Car makes the driver.
Hamilton and Alonso where driving dogs of Cars and finished 3rd and 5th respectively, prooving yet again they are both by far the best in the sport.
While Button who for years has done nothing even in a crap car he never showed signs of looking good, while someone like a Hamilton or Alonso would of done far better, he wins in the best car by far.
Button is a very average driver in by far the best car in the field, if Barrichello had not of stuffed his start up he more than likely would of won.
Never been a fan of Button, he is just some play boy.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
Didn't button come 2nd or 3rd overall a few years back? and IIRC his only win was once he'd moved down to a weaker car. He's certainly not a crap driver. There's a difference between the "average" cars that Alonso and Hamilton are driving now and the piece of junk that Button's had for the past 4-5 years.
Button's been very much the new Johnny Herbert - Better than the cars he's driven, but, after a bright start, never given the chance to prove it.

Yeah that was the BAR Honda which was a good car, but in that same year, he was out driven a quite a few times by his team mate Takuma Sato! the one man wrecking machine.
I do think if Button wasnt British people wouldnt think that highly of him, he reminds me of Massa, a Good driver but not great.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
Why is the McClaren so shit this year. Every time it went round a bend it looked like it was doing about 5 mph... I mean it wasn't but it looked so slow! I was astonished when Hamilton came 3rd having started in 18th. I thought he'd struggle to get into the top 10!

Mclaren spent most of last year trying to build on the 08 car to win the title for Hamilton, while other teams like Honda (Brawn), Red Bull, BMW and a few others where concerntrating on the 09 car from halfway through the season, Brawn even started work on there 09 car in March last year, so Mclaren are just playing catch up, they will be up there again as soon as the car is changed as they are using the same engine as the brawn (mercedes) also the Diffuser row does seem to be helping Brawn quite alot.
Was a great drive by Hamilton, think he proved that even in a dodgy car he still is very good.

I'd love for Brawn to do well this year. It's good to see another British car out there

Hamilton been disqualified from the Aussie Grand Prix.
Wondered how long it would take Max and the FIA to fuck around with Mclaren this season! and it took one race, must be a new record.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
It's a real shame. The first race of the season was fantastic, the new rule changes made it pretty unpredictable, yet we've got this going on & the fact that potentially 6 cars can still be thrown out of the race over the diffuser issue means we might not get the result of this until after the Malaysian GP.

So in a way, Fernando Alonso could end up winning the grand prix!
AWESOME!!
They wont be DQ though as they dont have Hamilton in any of the cars and none of them are Mclarens.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
Bugger! I was thinking of putting the Grand National winnings on Button but the weather put me off.
That said, given both the conditions and the clear gap between him and Reubens (same car and very experienced top drawer pro driver), Button may just be proving that he is better than his cars over the last few years and treatment by Williams a few years back showed.

If it continues I expect the FIA will disqualify Brawn GP on account of Button's beard being the wrong shade of brown and give Ferrari a billion points.

Button injured in F1 incident! Pic below (not for the weak at heart.) Call me sick but I think it's in everyone's interest to see it and just how much damage was done.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
Diffusergate should be decided tomorrow. Really going to give the sport a bad knock if they decided against Brawn IMO. Races so far have been unpredictable. Whilst Button's been fastest, the races themselves have been far from gimmies that we used to have when it was all Ferrari vs. McLaren. Here's hoping that common sense will prevail, but lets face it, it's a Ferrari led appeal & we all know the history of those.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
I'm almost certain the FIA will find some excuse to deem them illegal so that Brawn lose all their points and Ferrari have a chance to take an early lead this season.

Re: Formula 1 (aka Formula Ferrari)
I reckon they will do nothing, as Mclaren are not involved, what they have done is found a loop hole in the regulatons, so they have gone out of there way to break the rules, but they wont do anything! If Mclaren had the diffuser then they would ban them.
The whole Mclaren "liargate" scandal has been blown out of proportion, Mclaren did bad, have had there points taken away and aplogised, but Dick Head Max knowing he has Mclaren in a corner is going to make them suffer and is loving it even though it is making the sport a joke! the guy is a total prick.

It's been ruled legal
Great decision for the sport as a whole. Shouldn't be too long before the big guns get their own diffusers designed though. I just hope the unpredictability remains.

Renault have already said that they have one in the wings are ready to use it for the next grand prix.
Wont be long before Mclaren, Ferrari and Renault are back up there.

Looking interesting from the practice times so far. Looks like McLaren have maybe found some pace from somewhere.
