Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
Considering we're an annual league, would anyone want to do a keeper or dynasty league? If not as the main league, maybe a separate league?

Eh. That's too much change for me. I like the way it works.

I prefer the version we have now. I guess I'd be fine with doing a seperate keeper league.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
I'm up for a keeper -thistledroyd's contacted me about one today actually.
And if he can find a second person from his softball teammates, they may be signing up at the last minute.
btw - gutted though I am that the first guy I followed in baseball has retired this week, kinda glad I won't be tempted by sentimentailty to sign Nomah in the last rounds...

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
I just looked at Yahoo's Keeper settings and it's both confusing and annoying to setup. You have to manually assign keeper players opposed to pulling from last year's rosters. That seems kind of stupid if you can't pull it up and have them automatically assign round values for each player.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
What about the ESPN fantasy keeper league option?
BTW that keeper team I've been asked to inherit, the keepers I'd be starting with include Albert, Mauer, Holliday and Sabathia....NICE!

Actually the auctions on ESPN are awesome and I hope they spread to other fantasy sites. Although baseball can take up to 3 hours for a 10-team league. Football is much better for it.
It depends on how many people would be interested, but we could do a keeper from last year's Yahoo and restrict it to first and second round picks only. You pick two people from your team last year and that would qualify as your first- and second-round picks. If there's someone who didn't play last year but interested in joining, they could get to pick two players immediately who aren't keeper players and get the first pick in the draft.
Or we can have a totally new draft and start keepers next year.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
looking at my team im starting to have 2nd thoughts about my draft strategy. figured id go for the positions where there isnt a lot of high ranked players like C SS abd 2b. but maybe i should have just gone for power right off the bat. guess time will tell.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
I'm very happy with my team. Got a few power guys, a few average guys, a few guys for stolen bases. I got 2 real aces in Halladay and Lester, plus 4 closers for teams that should win a decent amount of games.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
I'd been holding off on Broxton whilst I filled a few gaps and was about to pair him with Pap when someone stepped in and nabbed him.
And I wasn't kidding last night btw - have 1Bs may trade for the right deal. The later ones were signed because of flexibility position-wise, but it's kind of ridiculous really

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
I wrote it on my calendar and set a reminder on Saturday night yet I still friggin' forgot. Oh well, auto-drafter actually did a pretty decent job although my first two picks would've been radically different.
However, I would be interested in either Chase Utley or Roy Halladay, and would be willing to trade Tim Lincecum or A-Rod for either one.

Hahaha. Lincecum's velocity has been steadily decreasing the last few seasons. Halladay is moving to the NL and is going to tear it up. Almost everyone is predicting at least 18 wins, some are saying 22 or more. So no way am I giving up Halladay.

I mostly wanted him because he's on the Phillies. Well that and he will have a great year.

Re: 2010 Smash Fantasy Baseball
Take a look at my latest post on the main page of the league about trading Ellsbury or Lind. Come on, I know somebody wants Ellsbury...and Lind isn't a pushover either...

If I didn't have a squad loaded with OF, I might betempted by Ellsbury...of course, if you want to consider my rash of 1Bs and let me know...
