I called Val, but would any of you listen? No, you all laughed at me...
Bam and Thorn were not being used, so no great loss.
D'Lo is a bit of a surprise though, given how recently he came in.

Right, I'm bored of hitting refresh on wwe.com in gaps during Footy Manager. Off to bed. Can't say I'll be surprised if I wake up and there's more gone. If anyone else is going to do the same (refresh wwe.com) then it's the main page then hit the WWE NEWS tab.

You can also add:
Jimmy Korderas - Referee
Gavin Spears - Developmental (and occasional ECW)
Mike Kruel - Developmental
Oh and apparently Vince's two limo drivers have been laid off (it's about time, his limousine blew up about 18 months ago now - what have they been doing all this time?)

Kevin Thorn was decent in his Vampire gimmick, perhaps slightly better than Gangrel and Vampiro, but still no big loss.
Val Venis could have been great, if they had let him get a push when he dumped the porno gimmick. I have always been a fan, and thought that he was underated.
D'Lo Brown was a shock when he was hired back with WWE, and even more shocking that he was released so quickly. Shame, as he is rather talented....

Ron Simmons and Sgt Slaughter are now gone. I really thought Sarge was a lifer by this point.

DAMN!!
MAGGOTTS!!
Sorry... had to get in first...
411's comments section on this is great - there's 216 comments at the time of posting this message here and at least 150 are just "DAMN!!"
It's the little things in life that make you smile.
Simmons has been down this road before and doesn't offer much but I thought Sarge would be a lifer as well. 19 years he's been with Vince now... Still you've got to pay for hot talent like Mike Adamle and the creative genius of Freddie Prinze Jr. somehow!

I'm very surprised about Slaughter, I assumed he had an important role.

Hade Vansen has been released as well. Back to the XWA for him! (Unless TNA take a liking to him I suppose).

I reckon he'll return to a career in Britain.

Matt Cappotelli also gone according to pwmania. Which is a shame, always saw something in him.

Yeah, saw that one coming with Capotelli eventually.
With his brain tumour and everything, is it not deemed unlikely he will ever return to the ring?
WWE has cut around $20 million off their costs. To be honest, looking at some of the releases, it is something they should have done a long time ago. A lot of guys with jobs because of who they were and not really for much else apart.

$20 million of savings, but only $8 million from the firings - and there are $3 million extra costs from that this year.

And don't like to revel in the misery of the recently unemployed... but thank fuck for that.
15 years with the company, at least 14 too long in my opinion how this modern day cockroach has survived the inumerable cullings over the years is a mystery to me.

Agreed there guys, how Bob Holly had survived the cuts so far was a mystery to me, ive never rated him, plus hes not been used since the Cody Rhodes heel turn, if they wont use him, and if they are cutting costs its best to get shot of him, it makes sense!

What shocked me was that his behaviour never seemed to get any better... even after this:
You'd have thought that would be a wake up call.
Some people just can't be helped. Good riddance.

To be honest I'd rather have someone like Bob Holly to put over the up and coming talent than Mark Henry still being around.

To be fair to Henry, he has improved his promos. At least thats something.
I am glad Holly is gone. Way overdue.

Yeah but generally speaking Bob Holly's more interested in embarrassing (see above) and/or beating the shit out of the up and coming talent than putting them over.

Ok, I'll rephrase. I'd prefer to see Bob Holly embarrassing and stiffing the up and coming talent than Mark Henry still being around
