Hey we've leant our "Lucky" tag to quite enough teams for the past few years. It's about time we had some.
5 points off 4th now though. Not good!

Chelsea have sent out a press release to deny Kalous celebration last night was a political handcuff gesture, I can honestly say when I saw it on MOTD last night the first thing I thought was he's a wrestling fan. I thought it was the D-X sign and I even saw a you cant see me signal after his second

Re: Official Premiership Thread
It seems Liverpool aren't going to win it this year! Thank fuck for that, imagine how long they would go on about. No doubt 19 smaller stars would of been added to the crest and the supermarkets of Merseyside would of been running low on tin foil. It's Man Utd's to loose now, they're love equalling the scouse record and getting another 3 in a row! It would be better for the game if Villa were to win it though. The big 4 has needed a shake up for a while.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
I think Benitez really fucked it up for himself, Liverpool were in the driving seat with the points all United had were games in hand and i know what i would rather have but after his little rant and strange team selections United are now 2 points clear with a game in hand
If he had just stuck to his own game I think they would still be top but he's Keegan-ed it
Good job too

Is just awaiting for the day when Benitez really loses the plot and does a proper Keegan esq rant!! It will be funny.
I still think Chelsea could win it! but id love it if Aston Villa won, would be great!
Is it just me, but everytime Steven Gerrard is on the pitch you just want to throw a brick at your TV screen?

I totally agree IOV... Nothing like putting your foot in it and cursing your own team is there?! God, when will he learn?! And WT is he is playing at with Keano? Either he wants to use Robbie as a starter or a key member of the squad, or admit that he was the wrong choice for Liverpool and get rid. I admire Robbie Keane for not talking about is frustration to the press, but there is going to be a point when he won't be able to keep his mouth shut.

A nice draining draw between Liverpool and Chelski and it will have been a good little weekend
From all reports it was a rather uninspiring game but 3 points is all that matters

Re: Official Premiership Thread
Great refereeing today, Lampard shouldn't of been sent of and Boswinga, who deserves a 10 match ban for his challenge didn't even conceal a foul.

The FA has decided that Boswinga deliberately studding someone in the back wasn't worthy of punishment.

Agree with that, he's been doing it for years.
If one team had to win yesterday I would've preferred Liverpool because I still see them as less of a threat than Chelsea. I don't care if they were ahead of us 5 points with 5 games left, I would not be worried. Not a threat.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
Well he didn't completely get away with it, he was rightfully yellow carded. I absolutely hate this part of his game, there's no need for it and I have no respect for anyone who goes looking for a foul.Rooq wrote:One thing that hasnt been mentioned much about yesterday is the performance of Gerrard yet again diving away and getting away with murder! what is it with this prat that can get away with anything on and off the pitch it seems!
As for Bosingwa: FA's turning out to mean Fuck All will be done. Lampard's red was harsh but that Bosingwa thing was needless, stupid and easily red.

They rescinded Lampard's red card. I admit it was harsh, but I thought the reason they didn't punish Bosingwa was because Lampard had been red carded. So now nobody will be punished.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
The correct decision was made JK. They need to adjust the rules though, If you can reduce a red card surely a panel should be able to upgrade a foul? It does undermine the ref but should reduce the amount of reckless tackles. The biggest downside of this is it brings up the video ref debate again.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
I was referring more to Boswinga than Lampard with that picture. The Lampard thing is only kind of irritating seeing as this is the 2nd time Chelsea have had a red card rescinded this season and you see incidents like that happen all the time without the FA changing anything.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
The Bosingwa decision is frustrating, it's only because the linesman (sorry, assistant referee) said that he saw the stamp that nothing's being done about it. So what? Thatcher only got a yellow card for what he did to Mendes a couple of years ago but the FA deemed that a special case and did something about it. I'm not comparing them in the sense of what happened to the player but there's precedent set with that decision.

Re: Official Premiership Thread
I don't expect we'll see much of that assistant - who I think was the senior of the two btw - doing a Premiership game for a few weeks.
I think what the FA and other bodies need to do is treat serious foul play in the same way as violent conduct, i.e look at the video afterwards and punish accordingly.
It's inevitable that referees and assistants will miss stuff during games so something like this can only help make sure players like Bosingwa are dealt with properly.
