Pretty underwhelming so far. But they have just signed Mistico, maybe something with Mysterio could be fun.

I see a lot of comments on 411 wrestling complaining about HHH v Taker because it has been done before and both guys are now older but I think it will be a good match. Taker seems to get better with age and with top talent HHH can still put on an amazing match so the two should be able to get the crowd into it.

A lot of rumours that it's going to be Streak v Career as well so did I miss something and they hinted at this in between not speaking, staring down and then leving the ring? scratch

It will be a good match, but is this the best they can come up with? Ten years ago there roster was too big with too many big names so they created a brand split to deal with it. Now the roster is a manageable size but the main event scene is sparse. They're still persisting with the brand split, which has been a joke since Brock got signed to smackdown and bringing back old names to generate buy rates.

With the new talent being brought in perhaps this will be a transition wrestlemania with long term plans for the future, hopefully ending the brand split?

I agree with this. I think it will be better than their X-Seven match, even though they are both 10 years older.

I'd buy Wrestlemania just to see it, partly also because I'm an old timer who doesn't know who the fuck Miz or Alberto Del Rio are.

Agreed. They hadn't been on TV for ages and won't have a match until this one so have had plenty of time to plan a clinic, likewise the suspense will be great and having such an underwhelming card will emphasis it further.

I'll be honest, I've seen a few references of late to how they're really starting to push the younger guys and the more I look at who is now being wheeled out - Austin, Rock, Taker, HHH - the more I think they're planning to wave bye to both at/after WM.

Trips reference this week to their being the last two of an era...well, you've just added the other big pair of the post-HBK Attitude era, so it's just stinking of signing off the last vestiges of the era (if you ignore Edge, Chritian, Show Henry, Kane, Jericho...) with a big flourish.

Plus both made noises in the last few months about retirement - Taker was hinting it for his 20th aniversary at last year's survivor series but then he needed his op, whilst Trips heldoff returning and recently commented on his age, how he wouldn't come back if he wasn't able to be as go as ever after his .

I think the build up for this has been as bad as the card. Why is Rio messing about with Christian and Cena/Miz with The Rock.

My favourite thing is the story that apparently they've decided not to mention on television that Triple H and Undertaker have already wrestled at a Wrestlemania. That's all kinds of awesome. I suppose it's just lucky for them that it happened at Wrestelmania X7 - you know, one of the least remembered Wrestlemanias of all time Neutral

I have a friend who claimed not to have seen Wrestlemania X7 so we sat down and watched it one night and still any time it has been mentioned since he still claims to have not seen it. Obviously he is the target audience though because he's ordering this years Wrestlemania while I'm just mooching it off him Very Happy

A mention of their X7 match would be nice but most of the fans now are so young they probably don't know about it and it's dicks like us destroying the WWE's continuity alterations

I was gonna say, they're probably counting on the fact the large majority of their audience were toddlers when HHH v Undertaker first happened at Wrestlemania. And yeah they're also think not mentioning it because HHH lost that one. And to lose twice to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania will make The Game seem a bit shit.

    Yeah Kane and Shawn Michaels.

I thought for sure they would play up the fact that not only that they've faced each other before but the fact it's the 10 year anniversary.

I heard Vince banned mention to keep focus on this year - as opposed to, as has been said, this being the 10th aniversary of one of the best matches at one of their best PPVs - to the extent that the running joke is that Taker is only 17-0 as that match clearly never happened.

I'm still not ruling our the possibility of Christian being added to the Edge v Rio match.

And tag wise, with the new nexus all being out at the mo, I'm expecting a tag gauntlet - Corre v Santino+Koslov v Usos v Kane/Big Show v a couple of midcard teams?

Whatever the reasons for doing it, is acknowledging the match really likely to cost them PPV buys? The first match was excellent, you'd think they would want to play that up, especially for newer fans, as this would be their chance to see the match. And maybe you even sell a few Wrestlemania X7 dvds.

If Triple H is supposed to be winding down his career now to focus on eventually taking over from Vince, you'd hope the idea that they don't want to emphasise Triple H losing twice to the same guy at Wrestlemania has nothing to do with it. You'd hope, but then who knows with him.

Given taker's history with both, they probably would have given the slot to Johnny Cash if he was still alive...

Just hope that the Bieber rumour's don't resurface!

That said, If they go like last time and make Taker v HHH a main event length match, that's probably half the show on just three matches (inc video, accompanying promos, entrances, ceebrations, etc). Depends what Taker particularly is capable of now. His rotator cuff was deemed unrepairable and, unlike most people returning fom injury, he hasn't had a couple of visible "tune-up" matches where he demolishes lower card guys in the build-up. Even trips has had a couple of brawls. The more time passes, the more I wonder if the rumoured switch from Barret to HHH is a case of "one last match" and "going out on a high"

So I randomly tuned into Sky 1 over the weekend and some WWE highlights show was on.

Saw a segment where Cena was pretending he was home, but really he was at the arena Laughing

He then came and kicked the Miz's ass all over the place.

    Cena = Awesome cheers

I've actually enjoyed the Miz/Cena buildup. Mostly because it's really gotten Miz over as a legit heel champion IMO. I was pretty bored with the Taker/Triple H build due to excessive and repetitively boring promos, but last night I really enjoyed both Taker/Triple H and Miz/Cena/Rock segments

Did I fast forward the Daniel Bryan match?

That mania was poor. I get the impression it will be used to continue fued and build up characters rather than end feuds and start new things if you catch my drift, a transition Wrestlemania if you will. They're in a strong position to build on and to continue to push the likes of The Miz.

    One of the worst Neutral

HHH/Taker was my match of the night, but even that wasn't great, very slow and plodding. Post-match when Taker was lying completely still with his eyes open, I thought they were doing an "Undertaker dies immediately after the match" angle. Missed opportunity again Vince Evil or Very Mad
