And.. well, it's not all that great! But the main thing I've found is that our station has ZERO access to promo singles, so we're relying on stuff coming out before we get to play it or it's album versions which get played which differ to the final product. Don't suppose anyone knows how to get in contact with labels or however you get them? I just get fed up of going "Sorry, we don't have your song on the system..."

I can't answer the question about labels, but can you talk with independent, unsigned bands to have their music played on your station? I think that might be an easier route. There's a time table on my local station that has a segment around 3-5pm that only plays local, undiscovered bands. It also mixes in newer, mainstream rock, but it's pretty nifty listening.

That's what my segment is, it's the whole station in itself that we have the problem in getting new music but my show's about local artists getting their stuff played. We've just installed a state-of-the-art recording studio we're going to have bands playing live in in the not-too-distant future. It'll be fun and that's more in line in what we're looking to do but right now it's higgeldy-piggeldy.
