    The Ultimate Summerslam card

Post  Dr Hellwig PhD on Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:02 pm

Summerslam is nearly here. What in your opinion is the best card possible from Summerslams past?

Rules: The card must feature eight matches and one of each of the following -

    • World Title/WWE/WWF Heavyweight Championship Match
    • Secondary Title Match (IC, US, Hardcore, Lightweight, Womens, European)
    • World/WWF Tag Team Championship Match

The other five bouts should be non-title matches.

Each worker can only work one match and only one match from each event.

I'll go first to show what I mean:

    The Ultimate Summerslam

The Mega Powers v The Mega Bucks (Sslam 1988)

    WWF Heavyweight Championship Match
Kurt Angle v Steve Austin (c) by DQ (SSlam 2001)

    Unscanctioned Match
    Shawn Michaels v Triple H (SSlam 2002)

    WWF Intercontinental Championship
Bret 'Hitman' Hart v Mr. Perfect (c) (SSlam 1991)

Love Her or Leave Her: Greenwich Street Fight
Test v Shane McMahon (SSlam 1999)

    Boiler Room Brawl
The Undertaker v Mankind (SSlam 1996)

Barry Horrowitz v Skip (SSlam 1995)

WWF Tag Team Title Match - Tables, Ladders & Chairs
    The Hardyz v The Dudleyz v Edge & Christian (c)(SSlam 2000)

I'd prefer the bret Owen cage match from 94 but thats just me. Man, Summerslam was really Bret Harts event.

    Totally!

As well as Owen/Bret I had also shortlisted The Hart Foundation v Demolition for 1990 and Bret/Bulldog for 1992... Bret/Taker in 97 wasn't bad either!
