Gay Footballers

Is this a topic of conversation over there? It comes up every now and again in American sports, but not nearly as much as I would think. I suspect there are millions of American athletes who are forced to stay in the closet due to the backlash they would receive. Shame that that's still the case in what many view as "modern and progressive times."

It comes up now and again too, has been a few "Kick Homophobia Out of Football" things going around like Kick Racism out of Football, but I dont think Gay footballers will ever come out because of the way Football fans and some footballers are sadly, most fans like me wouldnt care less if they came out, infact it would be great to have some come out, is obvious that there is plenty about and is quite common knowledge about some Ipswich Town players who have been gay but never came out.

Heard about the Swedish footballer recently who came out so that was good!
