Re: Official Impact Thread
SPOILERS!!
Can't they just leave the WWE references?
Mick Foley addressed the so-called babyface side. He praised ttheir effort and gave them a pep talk. He praised Eric Young and told him he'd earned an X Division title match on the show, and also announced Sting vs. Jay Lethal and Beer Money vs. Samoa Joe & A.J. Styles
Awesome Kong & Rhaka Khan b Taylor Wilde & Roxxi
Eric Young b Sheik Abdul Bashir to win the X title
Scott Steiner b Rhino when Kurt Angle distracted Rhino
Sting b Jay Lethal. Sabin & Shelley interfered but Lethal refused to beat Sting via cheating. As they argued, Sting got him with a scorpion death drop for the pin
Everyone except Sting bloodied up and destroyed Petey Williams, particularly Scott Steiner
Beer Money b Joe & Styles via DQ when Team 3-D ran in. Seemed to set up a three-way program
The Main Event Mafia without Sting destroyed Christian Cage. Kurt Angle said they heard a rumor he was jumping back to WWE and said they are giving him a going away party, and beat him down
Can't they just leave the WWE references?

Re: Official Impact Thread
I'm watching impact at the moment, there's a 8 knockout (diva) tag match on. One side is all white and the other has 3 black knockouts and a knockout with a niqab.
Guess which side is the face?
Does anyone watch this crap regularly?

Re: Official Impact Thread
It's own Bravo 2 right now, the main event is an empty arena match. This was done before in WWE during a half time superbowl show and it sucked. That's bad enough but to send a paying (?) crowd out of the arena to watch the main event on TV, jesus christ...
Both have had they usual entrance as well..

You actually think they'd have an audience if they made them pay?

Re: Official Impact Thread
Yeah don't they have that bizarre deal with Universal Studios that they can't charge admission to the Impact zone?

Yeah, it's treated as an attraction at the park, so entrance is free. Same deal WCW had back in the day. They do get decent paying crowds for PPVs and house shows though, so it's not as if they can't draw, just that it's cheaper to tape Impact on a standing set.

Re: Official Impact Thread
Will take a look at it, read it was nothing more than overbooked car crash TV.
Which is for TNA's name probably a good start but they'll be doomed if they keep this up.

In fairness to it, Angle and Styles was fantastic, but nothing else impressed me in slightest.

Re: Official Impact Thread
Spoilers below:
- Spoiler:
- So from what I've read, Val Venis, Hogan, Scott Hall, X-Pac, the Nasty Boys, Jeff Hardy, Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair and Orlando Jordan all debuted on Impact last night. Did I miss anyone?
Some big names in there, but the only actual surprise is Flair in my opinion. The rest were bound to end up there because it's the only place with a little cash to give.
I don't think this is Monday Night War part 2, this is going to be 1998-2001 part 2.

Re: Official Impact Thread
Nah, this looks like Nitro 94-95.
Hogan was never a draw in WCW until the NWO came along, and the NWO was only a draw with Hogan.

- Spoiler:
- It seems that like '94 all his old mates have turned up for the party! I mean, the nasty boys in 2010? No doubt they will fued with team 3D, zzzz.
Nash, Hall & Waltman siding with Bischoff & Hogan, that seems familiar, please see comment above.
The episode reminds me a lot of an episode of Thunder in 2000 when there was no raw to oppose it. They had the macho man return for one night only, which was cool if you saw the show but didn't help the ratings at all.
I get the impressions that they've hatched all of their eggs in one basket, I can't see where the show is going to other than a NWO reunion and there are enough Stables in TNA as it is.

Re: Official Impact Thread
There's very little to suggest anything new or long-term, certainly
- Spoiler:
- And if Jeff has really done this so soon after letting his WWE contract run down because he wanted to concentrate on different things in his life, then I think he may have finally burned his bridges with Vince

Has Ric Flair become a 65 year old stunt man? Watching him on TNA makes me cringe.

Re: Official Impact Thread
Does look saggy now when he was just out of shape before.
Apparently, he still reckons he has "one big match" leftin him. At least Hogan has realised it's time to give it up.

Re: Official Impact Thread
He looked saggy 10 years ago but got in to shape when he rejoined the WWE.
Definitely the best of all time by a mile, although not financially, such a shame that he doesn't know when to stop, especially the bumps he's taking in TNA and the weekly blading.
