It really is scary how young and how often wrestlers are dropping off.

For me the question here links back to the seizure which caused his orioginal release:

    - Was there an underlying medical conditon which he didn't get properly treated
    - Was there an underlying medical condition he believed WAS under control
    - Was he taking something which led to both events?

Given that at the first sign of trouble he was dropped by the big boys, then his attempt to get back a year later failed, I'm nt sure how much the industry can be blamed on this occasion.

Can't be good for HBK's peace of mind, btw, that he's been online less than a week and the first major thing he has to comment on is the death of someone close to him.

RIP Lance - much too early

In an industry will as many deaths as wrestling it's a bit irresponsible to just drop him.

A little more reading and the seizure in 2008 was apparently down to an accidental painkiller overdose. If that was through habitual use, then knowing current WWE policy, he'd have ben offered rehab and the relase suggests he probably rejected it. Diffcult to hep those who won't help themselves.

It is difficult and it's the biggest reason for addiction related deaths. The addict needs the most attention when they're in this mind set. Rubbing your hands clean of them and (for legal purposes) showing you tried isn't going to make them stop. Don't get me wrong, the reasons for Lance's death are solely his own but this situation is going to occur repeatability and it appears that no one gives a shit.

The WWE is a company not a nursery school they offered Cade help and he rejected it, not much more they could other than kidnap him and force him to do rehab.

Just realised this is a bit of a cold post.........umm RIP

I think your comparison really only works if nursery schools are fostering environments where substance abuse is a common part of the business - accepted by many and even seen as necessary by some. And other than maybe up here in Scotland that generally isn't the case.

    RIP.
