Wow, just saw that PWInsider.com are reporting that Tazz has left WWE after taping this week's Smackdown!. His contract has apparently expired. Shocked

That's a shocker - he doesn't appear to be interested in actually wrestling anymore so I'm surprised he's walked away from what seems to have been a cushy number - I assume he's walked anyway - they're not tripping over announcers down Stamford way at the minute - unless JBL quits in-ring again

Harsh luck there Outlaw. Maybe he can replace Don West in TNA?

EDIT: I have heard rumblings that JBL is about to re-retire, so you could be onto something there.

    oooh

the most shocking commentating departing since Jerry Lawler which ironically was (albeit the week after No Way Out) just before X7 at Houston

What would be cool is if they could bring someone big/ different/ surprising in for Wrestlemania, however Striker will probably get the Wrestlemania job given there is no ECW match, and will likely, unless it goes to JBL again, get it full time

Re Tazz the comentator, he actually became really good around 2003, which was helped by the time that it was when Michael Cole actually peaked

At least this shakes things up a tad, although I would much prefer Lawler leaves, it was a blessing when he walked out in 2001, SEVEN YEARS AGO, and he has got worse

Agreed - the arrival of Heyman in the announce book really emphasised how past his sell by date Lawler really was. It was a real kick up the arse for JR as well, his best work for years coincinding with the last great purple patch for wrestling.

    Excellent days

JR was at his best with Heyman, and as Heyman has said, his deliberate winding up of JR clearly bought out the best in JR (the fact that JR clearly doesn't understand the entire thing is an act, and takes everything personal helps) Just look at JR after the Stone Cold/Kurt Angle match at Summerslam 2001, how important did that make it seem? Imagine JR being like that sitting next to Lawler?

Although JBL is a tosser, and whilst using a heel persona as a commentator far too often bought in personal opinions (far too many heels he ripped the shit out of because he disliked the person) and did his bully boy crap over Cole too much, he is the best partner for JR this side of Heyman (who would never come back)

    Prowrestling.net

Apparently he was upset over Vince McMahon always yelling at him much like Foley and Coach were and decided not to re-sign.

Seemed to have held in a long time.

Surely they'll put JR/Lawler and JBL/Cole together again.

I really hope JBL gets the dig beside JR.

JBL is a class act there for me.
