I thought there would have been more talk about this serious situation in the middle east but people are more pre-occupied with mods, cliques and chr1s.......for shame Smash, for shame Evil or Very Mad

It may becoming to an end soon after Israel agreed in principle to a cease fire it cant really come soon enough really there has already been nearly 700 killed in like a two week war

But these Hamas guys must be real scum bags there have been reports of them carrying children as human shields Shocked

I can't see much coming of it to be honest. A ceasefire will happen but nothing really major will occur as a result (apart from further lives being lost). The independent report by the UN on the bombing of the school will be interesting though, I'm not sure how Israel can defend that.

The Hamas are scum bags, there's also reports of them dressing as civilian and hiding in the crowd.

Piss poor from Ahmadinejad and his buddys to hound Israel.
Wouldn't have given a toss if Hamas started the shooting but then again if the UN were to dissolve at this moment, they would wipe Israel out in a heartbeat...

This whole situation is a problem without a lasting solution, there will only ever be temporary "sticking plaster" solutions. Too many people have died. The Palestinians live like 3rd world refugees in a lot of the area, but the Israelites are basically surrounded by enemies.

Both sides have done things wrong, Ha mas etc are probably more morally evil because of their use of terrorist tactics and soft target warfare, but then maybe if they were getting a billion dollars a year in military aid they would be able to fight a conventional war.

But then on the other hand, Israel fight using conventional tactics but have killed 700 people while suffering 11 casualties and this is in response to a very low number of casualties caused by the original rocket attacks.

For me the example here would be if we had bombed the shit out of Belfast with planes and artillery every time the IRA did something. The world would not have stood for that.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm no neither side.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the news.

Me too. Carpet bombing an entire city indiscriminately simply because there's no way to separate out the militants from the civilians is not doing Israel any favors in terms of gaining sympathy. The Belfast example is extremely apt.

Israel seems to be getting plenty of support from America. While every other major leader condemns Israel Bush goes "YEHAH! BOMB THE TERRORISTS!"

How long before he goes back to the monkey house at the Washington zoo?

Something like the 20th I believe.

And yes, the Belfast thing is spot on.
