We were meant to be amongst it, and ended up finishing rock bottom. chin ponder

The championship has to be the most competitive in the world, it's far to early to start working out who's going to be up there.

Doncaster Rovers played great football last season, they and Peterborough could be a surprise package, or both get relegated, such is the league! Very Happy

Bryan Gunn has been sacked as Norwich manager less than a week into the new League One season.

The Canaries, relegated from the Championship last term, crashed to a humiliating 7-1 defeat at home to Colchester in their opening fixture last Saturday.

A 4-0 midweek Carling Cup win at Yeovil in midweek could not save Gunn, a legendary figure at Carrow Road from his days as a goalkeeper, and assistant manager Ian Butterworth has been placed in temporary charge for Saturday's trip to Exeter.

Gunn, a former Scotland international who made 477 appearances for Norwich between 1986 and 1998 and then held various roles behind the scenes, took over as caretaker boss in January following Glenn Roeder's sacking.

Despite a 4-0 win over Barnsley in his first game in charge, results soon dipped and City were relegated on the final day of the season.

Nonetheless, the 45-year-old was appointed permanent boss in May, only for the Canaries board to lose patience following Saturday's drubbing, during which Gunn was confronted by two angry supporters on the pitch.

Chief executive David McNally told the club's official website: "Bryan has worked tirelessly for this football club for more than two decades, not least since taking over team affairs in January.

"However, the board met this week following Saturday's unacceptable record home defeat in our opening game of the season.

"The board, after lengthy consideration, unanimously felt a change was in the best interests of all parties concerned, in order to give us the best possible chance of achieving our objectives."

Utterly ridiculous. Sacking a manager based on one game after he's signed 11 players over the summer and his last result was a 4-0 away win!

Have to feel sorry for the Nar Wich fans, the people running their club are a joke.

Paul Lambert (hasn't done much other than beat us in the league cup semi, he failed to wycombe promoted for 2 seasons) has left Colchester and has taken over Norwich.

I guess they assume the 7-1 was a sign of how great he is. chin ponder

He's been alright, doesn't like to rush in to challenges though and backs off a lot.

Not really an issue though when you're scoring 4 away from home. cool v

Paddy Kenny gets a 9 month ban for failing that drug test, is seems doubly harsh to me as he only took a flu remedy and the wording of his ban even states that he made no attempt to enhance his performance.

2 goals ruled out of offside, the second one Burton ran around a player to slot it home, awful decision.

Palace lost 4-0 at home to Scunthorpe!! Very Happy Very Happy And we had 6,000 more fans for a lower league match.
