So Seth Petruzelli's radio comments where he claimed he was paid to stand up with Kimbo (later corrected, then corrected, then corrected again) have basically put paid to CBS buying the company and now Elite XC are done. This is pretty sad news as they had a shot, however slim, of competing with UFC. Horrible news for the fighters, staff and fans.

Well I think they had no chance of competing with UFC, while they were on CBS. It just wasn't the right fit.

Being backed by a national TV network? As opposed to cable? Okay, there are dozens of valid reasons one could argue they didn't stand a chance against UFC, so naturally you picked the dumbest one

No I was just saying it didn't fit the network. The station is full of comedy shows and drama series, that's off the wall compared to Spike that show every type of show based for male entertainment.

Re: Elite XC Goes Under
So by extension of your argument, that means that CBS should not do well with carrying the NFL games on sunday, or the NCAA March Madness basketball games in the spring, or any other sporting events?
How about NBC which also carrys the NFL, and plays the WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, and many other sporting events?
I would not say that there was any issue with EliteXC playing on CBS, as long as they did not have to water down their product to do so (Which they did not do)
