Re: Official Comics thread
I didn't realise that this Batman RIP thing was such a big deal outside of comics I just saw comments from the author on Ceefax.
You'l like this:
I'm starting to get annoyed with the Hulk, every issue starts a it seems like I have missed something, but I get every issue!!!
Also got Deadpool this week.

I thought it was okay. Definitely Joker's story and I did like his back story. Overall, I felt it was too short. I was really getting into it towards the end and suddenly it was all over.

Big Dave:
Ill let you get away with Hulk as long as you buy Secret Warriors as well.
Shane: I think the problem with reading Killing Joke is that it requires you have an attachment to the characters before reading the book. I would recomend Batman: The Long Halloween it's a pretty epic book and a pretty diffinative story as well. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight borrow alot from it.
Loeb what happend to you
Anyone getting into Dark Reign this week?

Yeah i Love Lenil Yu for stuff like that, he's managed to get Howard the Duck into something like 10 books in the last year.
The Batman R.I.P is really starting to pay off in spades now, the batbooks have been going from streangth to strength lately. Be interesting if they can keep this up with battle for the Cowel.

Even if it's bad, Gavok and ManiacClown over at 4thLetter should be able to get a decent parody out of it. Ultimate Edit Week was great.

Nice to see that Marvel finally got round to putting out some new issues of Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine. Its only been about 2 years since issue 1 came out! I wonder if my original print is worth anything?!

Re: Official Comics thread
To be somewhat fair to Marvel, they stopped publishing because the writer went AWOL and they didn't really want a fill-in writer on a four issue mini.
Anyone else reading Incognito? Brubaker is awesome once again.

Re: Official Comics thread
If noneof you had heard, Exiles, once a major seller for Marvel before Claremont cacked it up, marvel changed it to "New Exiles", cacked it up further, gave a half-hearted series of cop-out answers to ongoing storylines like Proteus and Gambit's homeworld.....
...sorry, lost track...
Anyway, having cancelled New Exiles with a single issue in which they had 3 people leave, one come back, one supporting character join despite being fobbed off 6 weeks earlier in the last annual, and the change in corporeal status of one of Claremont's mainstays since he got shunted for Morrison vaguely explained...
...sorry again...
Anyway, having removed core character Blink for the second time in the last revamp, they've now announced that with Claremont's departure there's going to be a new Exiles book with a team lead by Blink starting April.
Why don't they learn not to muck about with a good thing???

Because it wasnt selling and they are trying to get it to sell before they ditch it.
Incidently Incognito im enjoying but unlike Criminal i dont think its a patch on Brubakers Superhero works, especially considering how well Cap and Daredevil are going at the moment.
Nightwing is so going to be the new Batmam.

Re: Official Comics thread
What's everyone's view on the new Claremont project - "X-Men Forever". Basicaly taking over from adjectiveless #3 (when Harras forced him out) after almost two decades with an alternate timeline based on is original outlines he never got to use.
Nick Fury is to become a pseudo X-Man as part of the government overseeing everything in the wake of Asteroid X, a confirmation that, as he doesn't need to keep the status quo in place, people will die. Quite early in some cases. The return of Master Mold about 5 years before Baston's arrival (ironically in the same basic location as Morrison's feral sentinel base). A totaly fresh take on Gambit to boot, along with new Claremont villains and, if the artwork in Alpha is anything to go by, the Brood, Dark Phoenix, Wild Child. Plus Claremont writing in his old style in a way that, judging by the preview, might suit him better.
Oh, and Exiles sld bucketloads until the "World Tour", btw. Was one of their biggest sellers. Pretty much the first real overhaul then and it plummeted from there. That said, unlike many books it's still seling too well for them to cancel it completely.
And I will check out the reviews at some point - haven't been online much of late

Apparently an X-Men character used as a mindless body by various people. Jean Grey was also announced but that seems like a given. Not Chinese btw.

It was the mute red thing that M turned into from Generation X. A bit of a random add, but there you go.

Re: Official Comics thread
Given the theme of the game I'd say it's not THAT Penance.
That one was the Gen X character with diamond hard skin that Gateway took to the Academy in the first issue - it was Monet in a body caused by her brother Empath feeding on her constantly for her mutant power, whilst her twins took her place and became M. Mute and diamond skinned isn't much for a character - Wolverine already covers the main combat boxes they'dbe filling there.
More likely is the character from Thunderboltsa while back - Robbie Baldwin (Speedball) was the only one of the new warriors who survived the Stanford explosio which led to the Civil War, but he burnt his powers out. He found that pain triggeredhis powers again so he got a sadomasochist suit with spikes on the inside and renamed himself Penance. With the Civil War theme I'd say it's him.
