I'd be quick to stamp out sigs. Full stop. Just dont allow them. They were a bane on the original smash and you dont want them to be that here.
Also some little things you could change on the site:

setup a forwarding internet address to something easier to remember like "smashlives" instead of the forumotion.net address

Only thing I can really suggest (more in the long term) is some sort of main page to the site. We're not going to get too much passing trade with just a forum & whilst we can get a few originals back, we're gonna need new members if this is going to keep going.
Other than that, fine job & I'm not arsed whether sigs are allowed or not.

Its because you have clicked on his name to view on his profile, is a hyperlink color change is all... click on another peeps name and view there profile and it will do the same.
