It has potential, gonna be a difficult to get it going unless we get a reasonable amount of folk back. Maybe Tony/Groovy still has the database with previous members - could use that somehow to send a mass email out? Or there might be an old mailing list from smashwrestling.com

There are a few avenues being followed for contacting the older members. Inno is looking into it, and I'll be posting this on the facebook group shortly - show stealer and a few others have expressed interest there.

I've grabbed the few people I have on msn to tell them about it.

Its a great opportunity to get the site going again - and properly, since you'll get back the members who had an interest in the original site coming back. You do need a theme though to attract the usuals - get the site back on wrestling as the focus maybe since wwe is still popular?

Even if I dont watch it; i'll do my best to pump the site to as many folk as i can alien

As I said in the other thread, we're going to need a main site eventually to pull some new members in. It's a good re-creation though. I sent a mass email last night to most of my msn/hotmail contacts from smash. Unfortunately most of them bounced. Sent a lot of bebo messages though, so lets see who turns up.

Obviously it's early days at the moment. We will all have to work together by getting new and old members back and contribute a load of posts. There's no reason why this can't suceed.

Well done Garibaldi for getting the site back up. cheers

I think having the old avatars back should help with the consistency of the old forum. Nice one Inno! queen

I think BOD is right in what he says about the long term future of the forums. It's great just now with everyone back and stuff but with so few members in comparison to the old place at it's peak it'll be difficult to sustain once people start back at Uni and get involved with other things that take up free time. I have an idea for an eventual expansion into a main site though which might work and I'll grab Garibaldi for a chat about it online at some point.

Manchester before we're too pissed would seem good if we can't do it before.

Otherwise it'll just be a jaegermeister appreciation site lol!

I have to say bravo to Garibaldi in stepping up in restoring the forums and Inno and Groovico and all those others involved with the restoration.
